Emcure Pharmaceuticals head Namita Thapar, who is also an investor on Shark Tank India, is reportedly set to earn over Rs 127 crore via the company's forthcoming Initial Public Offering (IPO). The IPO is set to begin today, in which Namita Thapar will be selling close to 2.68 lakh shares through the Offer for Sale (OFS) component.

The IPO will see Namita Thapar gain an astounding 293-fold return on her initial investment. The Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals obtained her shares at a weighted average price of Rs 3.44 per share. The top price of the IPO is set at Rs 1008 per share, thus making her sale expected to bring in over Rs 127 crore. 

For the unversed, Namita Thapar's net worth is estimated to be over Rs 600 crore which mostly comes from her work at Emcure Pharmaceuticals.

Namita Thapar, who was reappointed as the Director of the board for an additional five years, effective July 28, 2024, has an MBA degree. After completing her studies, she moved to the US and worked at Guidant Corporation, a medical device company, as the Business Finance head.

Namita Thapar then joined Emcure Pharmaceuticals as a CFO and was soon appointed as the Executive Director. Emcure Pharmaceuticals was founded by Namita Thapar's father Satish Mehta, who is now the company’s Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director.

Apart from Emcure, Namita Thapar also heads Incredible Ventures Ltd, an education company. For Shark Tank India, Namita Thapar charges Rs 8 lakh per episode.

As per reports, Namita Thapar owns a lavish house in Pune which is worth Rs 50 crore. She is married to Vikas Thapar who also works at Emcure. 

Namita Thapar also owns a fleet of cars including a BMW X7 worth Rs 2 crore, a Mercedes-Benz GLE, and an Audi Q7, among others.
