The city-based company sold 2,08,485 units during same period last year.

Total two-wheeler sales registered last month grew to 2,02,209 units as against 2,01,233 units sold in same month of last year.

Sales of two-wheelers in domestic market almost remained flat at 1,72,101 units as compared to 1,72,162 units sold in January 2016.

However, sales of scooters grew by 12% to 70,049 units in January 2017 from 62,552 units sold during same month of last year.

Motorcycle sales declined in January 2017, with 60,275 units having been sold as compared to 83,374 units sold in same month last year.

Sales of three-wheeler dropped to 4,850 in January 2017 from 7,252 units sold during same month last year.

On the exports front, the company said sales in overseas markets stood at 34,110 units in January 2017 as against 34,823 units sold in January 2017.

The two-wheeler exports marginally increased to 30,108 units in January 2017 from 29,071 units sold in January 2016, the release added.
