Nita Ambani, wife of Mukesh Ambani, is considered to be one of the most celebrated socialites across the world, and is an esteemed member of the close-knit billionaire family. However, not many people know about Nita Ambani’s life before she married India’s richest man.
Mukesh Ambani married Nita Ambani in 1985, and the two have three children together – twins Akash Ambani and Isha Ambani, and youngest son Anant Ambani – with the entire family living a lavish life. However, Nita Ambani’s life was not always so luxurious.
Before getting married to Mukesh Ambani, Nita Dalal belonged to a middle-class family. Nita Dalal Ambani’s father Ravindrabhai Ambani used to work in a senior manager position at the Aditya Birla Group, now headed by Kumar Mangalam Birla.
Nita Ambani started training as a Bharatnatyam dancer at the young age of 6 and continued her passion for dance till she was 20. Soon, she started her career as a dancer and started earning a living as a dance teacher in a small school.
Before getting married to Mukesh Ambani, Nita Ambani used to work as a dance teacher at a school in Mumbai. She also used to perform at several events, being a trained classical dancer. It was during one of her dance performances when she got noticed by her father-in-law Dhirubhai Ambani.
After getting married to Mukesh Ambani, Nita had only one request – that no one would stop her from working even after her wedding, and the Ambanis happily obliged. In an interview with Simi Garewal, Nita Ambani also revealed her salary.
Nita Ambani said that even after her wedding, she continued working as a school teacher at an institute called St Flower Nursery. She also revealed that she got Rs 800 per month as a salary at the time, maintaining her professional skills despite marrying into a family of billionaires.
