State-run Steel Authority of India Ltd, the largest steelmaker in the country, said on Friday the government had appointed Chandra Shekhar Verma as the chairman following the retirement of SK Roongta on May 31.
Verma was earlier the finance director at India's largest power equipment maker, state-run Bharat Heavy Electricals.
