Australia after winning the toss and electing to bat first will be the happier one of the two contingents at stumps in the third Test at Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). The Aussies posted a total of 166/2 (55).
Had it not rained, the hosts may have ended with a score above 250+ thanks to debutant Will Pucovski who made the most out of the conditions.
However, Indian debutant Navdeep Saini was the one who got the opener after tea. Steve Smith walked in to bat and made a statement especially against nemesis R Ashwin. He scored five boundaries, as the pair of Labuschagne and Smudge added fifty-plus for the third wicket.
