India v/s England, 1st ODI: Rohit, Kuldeep guide visitors to thumping win - how it happened
Here are highlights of the first ODI between India and England.
India defeated England by eight wickets in the first ODI in Nottingham on Thursday. The win for the visitors was achieved on the back of a six-for by Kuldeep Yadav and an unbeaten century by Rohit Sharma.
The victory by eight wickets, and with 9.5 overs remaining, came after the hosts were all out for 268 with a ball to spare on a sunny afternoon in Nottingham. Sharma, who was dropped on 92, sealed his 18th century from 181 ODIs with a six before taking his tally to 137 not out.
Captain Virat Kohli contributed 75 before being stumped by the quick-thinking Jos Buttler, ending a 167-run partnership and leaving India at 226-2, but the necessary 43 were found without difficulty.
Left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep had earlier ripped through the hosts' top order with three wickets in the space of 10 balls and completed his 10 over stint with figures of 6-25. The performance was the best by a spin bowler against England in one-day cricket.
The three-match series is being seen as the curtain-raiser for the World Cup in England next year. The top spot in the ICC ODI rankings is also at stake.

Right, we're ready for the Indian innings.
Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan to open the innings, Mark Wood to bowl the first ball.
Here we go!
This has been a fine effort from the Indians.
They've restricted the hosts to just 268 at a ground that's been the highest-scoring venue in world cricket over the past five years.
Kuldeep Yadav was the wrecker-in-chief. His six-wicket haul broke England's back and put India in the driver's seat.
Will the tourists chase down this well-below-par total with ease or will they make a meal of it?
Join us after a short break for the second innings of this first ODI!

ENG - 216/7 after 45 overs.
OUT!
Stokes is gone, Kuldeep gets his fifth wicket!
The left-hander connects a reverse-sweep but Kaul takes a sensational diving catch at point.
But what a performance this has been from Kuldeep Yadav. After being dropped from India's side for the final T20 against England, he has answered his critics in an amphatic manner.
Kaul returns to the attack, gives away just two runs and also smacks Ali on the helmet.
Meanwhile, Stokes gets to his half-century off 102 deliveries. This has been a major struggle for the left-hander but he's done well to hang around.
England need him to up the tempo now and hit some lusty blows.
ENG - 214/5 after 44 overs.

Moeen Ali is out in the middle with Stokes.
Another good over from Kuldeep, just three runs came from it with Stokes getting beaten a couple of times again.
England need to get going if they are to get close to 300.
ENG 205/5 after 41 overs.
Half-century for Jos Buttler! His third fifty in as many games.
This is turning out to be a fine knock from the middle-order batsman. He came in at a time when the English batting was in deep trouble, but he's been at his fluent best right through.
Stokes doing a good job at the other end, too. The left-hander started extremely slowly but he's done well to hang in there and build a partnership with Buttler.
It's worrying from India's point of view to see how ineffective their bowlers have been at picking wickets in the middle overs. Kohli's trying to rotate his bowlers regularly but it isn't paying off.
ENG - 188/4 after 36 overs.
Buttler (31*) and Stokes (30*) have brought the hosts back into the contest.
The duo is rotating the strike freely and picking the odd boundary.
Kuldeep bowls three more overs in a fresh spell but fails to strike this time.
England looking good to cross 300 comfortably. These two have to keep going, though.
ENG - 162/4 after 31 overs.
Stokes and Buttler building a bit of a partnership for England.
Buttler, in sublime form since the IPL, has upped the tempo since he's arrived at the crease.
A picture-perfect punch through covers for four in that Hardik over.
Stokes timing the ball better, too.
ENG - 134/4 after 25 overs.
Stokes is batting on 7 from 27 at the moment.
It's his miserable strike-rate that, perhaps, led to Morgan attempting a false shot.
Credit to the Indian bowlers, though. They're bowling in a disciplined manner.
ENG - 110/4 after 21 overs.
OUT!
The change in bowling works!
Chahal replaces Raina, tosses it up and induces a careless flick from Morgan. Raina takes a comfortable catch at mid-wicket.
Big wicket for India as the England captain walks back for 19.

England get a kick-on!
ENG - 104/3 after 19 overs.
Four!
Finally some refief for England as Morgan pulls Raina for a boundary.
It was a half-tracker and the England captain gave it the punishment it deserved.
Good comeback from Raina, though. Gives just a single after that. Stokes is really struggling to even rotate strike.
92/3 after 18 overs.
Raina and Kuldeep bowl an economical over each.
The runs have really dried up. Stokes playing dead defences against the spinners.
ENG - 87/3 after 17 overs.
Stokes gets off the mark after playing five dot balls.
He tries to sneak a single, there's some confusion with Morgan but he dives in.
Another fine over from Kuldeep, just one run came from it.
ENG - 83/3 after 15 overs.
Suresh Raina comes on to bowl.
England have skipper Eoin Morgan and Ben Stokes out in the middle.
A quickly, quickly bowled maiden from the veteran.
England had gotten off to a solid start but they have their backs to the wall thanks to Kuldeep's brilliance.
ENG - 82/3 after 14 overs.
OUT!
Kuldeep Yadav is on fire!
This time Bairtow perishes.
A brilliant googly catches him in front. The umpire said not-out but Kuldeep convinced Kohli to take a review. The decision to do that was spot on.
The replay shows all three reds and England lose their second opener.
India on top here!
OUT!
Kuldeep strikes again!
Joe Root has to walk back after getting out plumb in front.
Kuldeep comes from over the wicket and bolws a perfect leg break.
Root is beaten all ends up. That would've hit the middle of middle.
India are right back in this contest.
ENG - 81/2 after 12.1 overs.
India strike!
Roy the first man to perish, Kuldeep Yadan strikes in his first over.
Poor attempt at a reverse-sweep, lost his balance and gave a simple catch to Umesh.
Hardik Pandya joins the attack.
Bowls the second ball as a half-tracker, Roy helps himself to a boundary past square-leg.
This time Roy punches it straight back, fine effort from Kaul to dive and pull it back at the boundary.
Roy and Bairstow have given England a great platform here.
It's the end of the first power-play, the hosts definitely won it.
ENG - 71/0 after 10 overs.
Spin introduced by Kohli in the form of Yuzvendra Chahal.
Roy reverse-sweeps the last ball for four.
Had been a decent over by the leggie till then.
ENG - 63/0 after 9 overs.
Debutant Kaul and veteran Umesh Yadav are running the show for now with very little wiggle room for England openers.
One run comes off Kaul's second over. After four overs, England at 21 for no loss.
Jonny Bairstow takes Umesh Yadav to the task. Back to back boundaries pushed crispily to offside.
After three overs, England at 20 for no loss.
Upon his ODI debut, Indian pacer Siddarth Kaul gives five runs off his first over.
After two overs, England at 11 for no loss. Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow are holding the fort.
Replay shows that umpire's decision would have been overturned about Bairstow appeal. No review denied Umesh Yadav his first wicket of the match and India an opportunity to put pressure on hosts.
Umesh Yadav starts for India. Gives six runs in the first over. Massive appeal for lbw on the last ball for Bairstow. Denied by umpire and Virat Kohli refuses to review the decision.
England: 6/0 after first over.
This series will be one of the important tournaments for MS Dhoni.
