Rinku Singh once again did it for his team by hitting a boundary in the last ball and winning the match by 5 wickets against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the iconic Eden Garden. Chasing 179 KKR had a decent start as Rahmanullah Gurbaz fell early after scoring just 15 runs. 51 runs runs partnership between Venkatesh Iyer and skipper Nitish Rana helped their team to stay in the match but 42 off 23 from Andree Russell was the inning that took KKR extremly closer to victory. However he lost his wicket in the lat over but Rinku Singh did it on the last ball and once again won a thrilling match of IPL 2023.
After being put to bowl first Kolkata Knight Riders restricted Punjab Kings for 179 after skipper Shikhar Dhawan completed his 50th IPL half century on Monday. Bating first at the Eden Garden PBKS completed the first inning at a par total whereas, KKR spinner Varun Chakaravarthy bowled beautifully and didn't let Punjab players build partnerships. He completed his 4 over spell at 3 for 26. Harshit Rana also got three wickets whereas KKR skipper Nitish Rana and Suyash Sharma contributed with one wicket each.
