Galle Gladiators pulled off a massive upset as they defeated the star-studded and the most consistent team of the Lanka Premier League which was the Colombo Kings. At a crucial moment, Galle Gladiators raised their game and showed their nerve under pressure as they got over the Colombo Kings. However, Jaffna Stallions have been the success story from the north of Sri Lanka as they defeated the Dambulla Viiking by a considerable margin. The winner of the Lanka Premier League will at least go in some way to beating the dominance of the Colombo sides which is prominent in the Sri Lanka domestic circuit.
