Senior Tamil Nadu batsman Murali Vijay has opted out of the upcoming season of Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament citing personal reasons.
Apart from that Medium-pacer K Vignesh, who tested positive for coronavirus, was also replaced in the proabables list of the Tamil Nadu team.
The duo was replaced by L Suryapprakash and R S Jaganath Srinivas.
“L Suryapprakash and Jaganath Sinivas have been included in place of M Vijay (expressed his unavailability due to personal reasons) and K Vignesh (tested Covid positive) in the Tamil Nadu probables for the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Tournament,” a Tamil Nadu Cricket Association press release stated on Saturday.
The 36-year old, who played three games for Chennai Super Kings in the recent IPL, was named in the 26-men proabables of the Tamil Nadu team, announced on December 16.
He was among the few established names along with Dinesh Karthik, Vijay Shankar, Baba Aparajith and Baba Indrajith.
Vijay was replaced by middle-order batsman Suryapprakash.
The final squad will be picked on Monday, December 21.
