The Abu Dhabi T10 league began in grand fashion with a triple-header on Thursday as 29 matches will be played 10 days in the United Arab Emirates.
The Abu Dhabi T10 League began in grand fashion on Thursday with a triple-header involving six teams. The tournament will be held at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi but currently, no fans are being allowed at the venue due to the coronavirus pandemic but there is hope that as the tournament progresses, some fans will be allowed. The tournament began with previous champions the Maratha Warriors taking on the Northern Warriors and they won that encounter comfortably. The other match featured Pune Devils taking on the Deccan Gladiators while Delhi Bulls ended the triple-header with a match against Bangla Tigers.
Maratha Warriors won the match and Pune Devils, as well as Delhi Bulls, were the other teams to have registered victories on the opening day of the Abu Dhabi T10 League. The tournament features some big names in world cricket in the form of Ravi Bopara, Dwayne Bravo, Kieron Pollard, Mohammad Amir, Shahid Afridi, Ben Dunk and several other superstars in addition to some local Indian, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh talents. The Abu Dhabi T10 League will culminate with the final on February 6 as the tournament returned in grand style following a forced break in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
