Former Team India cricketer Yuvraj Singh has once against bashed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for not properly managing Harbhajan Singh, Virender Sehwag and Zaheer Khan during the end of their careers.

He further claimed that he hopes the board will acknowledge match-winners in the coming future and reward them with proper honour for their contribution towards Indian cricket.

The former Mumbai Indians allrounder also expressed his thoughts on the way BCCI handled him towards the end of his career and termed it as "unprofessional", however, it that didn't surprise him.

"Giving someone a farewell, that’s not for me to decide."

"It’s up to the BCCI. But I felt the way that they managed me towards the end of my career, was very unprofessional," Yuvraj was quoted as saying by multiple outlets.

"But looking back at some of the great players from India - Harbhajan, Sehwag, Zaheer Khan - were also badly mismanaged. It’s part of Indian cricket, I have seen that in the past so I wasn’t really surprised," he added.

Back on 10 June 2019, Yuvraj had announced his retirement from international cricket after playing for 19 years. However, India's 2011 World Cup hero didn't get a farewell match too, just like Zaheer and Sehwag.

The batsman last played for India in limited overs in 2017 and only played four games in this year’s Indian Premier League for Mumbai Indians.

After the World Cup, Yuvraj battled with cancer throughout the tournament. He went overseas for treatment and just when everyone thought he would never again hold the bat, Yuvraj went away to France for a training stint.

Back in India much slimmer and fitter, Yuvraj Singh showed what he was still capable of with a 35-ball 77 in a T20 International against Australia.

However, the former star allrounder still remains hopeful that the management will do a better job of honouring the heroes who have represented India on the world stage.

"But in the future, anybody who has played for India for a long time and has been through tough situations, you should definitely honour him," Yuvraj said.

"Give him that respect, somebody like Gautam Gambhir, who has won two World Cups for us. Sehwag, who has been the biggest match-winner after Sunil Gavaskar in Tests. Zaheer, who has 350 wickets, Laxman... and all these guys," he added.
