Called as the successor of MS Dhoni, young lad Rishabh Pant celebrates his birthday today (October 4). The 23-year-old burst into the scenes quite early and made a mark.

From having a successful stint at the Indian Premier League (IPL) to being part of the Indian squad, Pant made sure all knew about him. While on one side he helped his IPL franchise Delhi Capitals (DC) win matches, on the other hand, his form with Team India was a see-saw.

While many cricket fans surely remember him for his inconsistent form, there is one thing that all know about Pant - it's him being vocal behind the stumps.

Pant is so talkative while wicketkeeping that there are some instances which have been caught on the stump mic.

1. Tim Paine and Rishabh Pant

Tim Paine and Rishabh Pant were heard having a hilarious banter during India's Test tour of Australia in 2018-19.

Paine had trolled Pant for not being selected in the India squads for the ODIs against Australia and New Zealand on Friday when the latter was batting.

Pant made sure he returned the favour when Paine came in to bat. On day 4 of the third Test, Paine came to the crease with Australia reeling at 135/5.

Pant in his chatter from behind the stumps took shots at the Australian calling him ‘a temporary captain’ and ‘a special guest.’

The banter started immediately after Paine’s arrival at the crease. “Have you ever heard of temporary captain, I am seeing one,” Pant said.

He could also be heard asking the bowler ‘“ to not do anything to get him out, just bowl.”

On day 3, Paine had welcomed Pant at the crease saying “Tell you what big MS is back in the one-day squad. Should get this bloke down to Hurricanes.. They need a batter”.

He even said, “Do you babysit? I can take my wife to the movies while you watch the kids”.

Rishabh Pant had a go at Nathan Lyon towards the end of Day 4 of the Boxing Day Test. Pant tried to sledge Lyon a bit from behind in order to break his concentration and help the bowlers get through his defence.

At the stroke of the 80th over when Jadeja was bowling, Pant had a go at Lyon, which was caught on the stump mic.

"Come on Gary. You don't want to come tomorrow for nothing," Pant chirped at Lyon. The spinner in response just laughed and said, "I can't even understand what you're saying, mate."

Then he turned back and said, "I like you too Rishabh".

Rishabh Pant was caught in the eye of a storm owing to an edited stump microphone clip from an IPL 2019 game.

The less-than-a-minute long clip was from the match between Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

It shows Pant, from behind the stumps, saying “yeh to chauka hai” (this is a boundary) as KKR’s Robin Uthappa took guard against Sandeep Lamichhane.

The next delivery was pushed through the covers for a boundary and the edited clip of Pant’s purported prediction started doing the rounds from unverified Twitter accounts, claiming to be cricket fans.

However, it was dismissed by the BCCI. “No one heard what Rishabh said before that particular sentence. He was apparently telling (Delhi Capitals captain) Shreyas Iyer to increase fielders on off-side to stop an imminent four,” a top BCCI official said.

4. Rohit Sharma abusing Rishabh Pant

Rohit Sharma was left frustrated with teammate Rishabh Pant during India's second ODI win over West Indies in Visakhapatnam on December 18.

In the 33rd over, India had a golden chance to run-out Jason Holder who formed a decent partnership with opener Shai Hope.

Rohit was very angry after the India southpaw threw the ball to the non-striker's end, instead of his end.

Pant messed up the chance by throwing the ball to Kuldeep Yadav instead of throwing it to Rohit and after missing the opportunity, the Team Indian opener used some cuss words which got picked up by the stump mic.

Are idhar de na..wo..bhe*ch** aadhe raste pe hai yaar,” Rohit was heard saying to Pant during the match.

However, that miss did not cost India that much as Kuldeep Yadav picked up a hat-trick against the Windies in the final three delivers of his 33rd over.

Not many, but people did hear Rishabh Pant talk to Hardik Pandya on his 2019 World Cup debut against England.

Pant in the 38th over said "darr lag raha hai" to Pandya which comment was caught on the stump mic.

Pant's batting entry also grabbed everyone attention as he was trying to take a run for every shot he hit. In the first three balls he faces, Pant almost missed getting run-out thrice.
