1.Happy Birthday Nathan Lyon
Nathan Lyon had a dream debut as Australia looked to overcome their woes in Asia. On a dustbowl in Galle, he had the perfect setting. Making his debut, Nathan Lyon took to Tests like a fish in water as he struck with his first ball. Kumar Sangakkara was his first victim and he ended up taking 5/34 as Australia won the Test in Galle and eventually the series 1-0. Nathan Lyon had a torrid start to his Tests against India as MS Dhoni hit him out of the attack and he was dropped for the subsequent Tests. However, he showed his mental strength as he picked up 7/94 against India in Delhi but Australia could not avoid the 0-4 whitewash. In subsequent years, Nathan Lyon established his dominance against India. He picked up 8/50 in the 2017 Test against India in Bangalore but his crowning moment came in the Adelaide Test in 2014 when he took 12 wickets and gave Australia an emotional win in the aftermath of the death of Phillip Hughes. Even when it comes to Ashes contests, Nathan Lyon has bounced back brilliantly after being dropped initially. Lyon helped Australia win the Birmingham Test in 2019 when he took six wickets in the second innings.
