The Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Jay Shah, has announced a prize money of INR 125 crore for Team India upon winning the T20 World Cup 2024 trophy. This substantial reward serves as a testament to the team's hard work, dedication, and exceptional performance throughout the tournament.

The victory led by Rohit Sharma ended India's 11-year drought of ICC titles, dating back to their Champions Trophy win in England in 2013. It also marked their first T20 World Cup title since the inaugural edition in 2007 in South Africa.

Following their historic win over South Africa in Bridgetown, senior players Rohit, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja announced their retirements from the T20I format.
