India's legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar's son Arjun Tendulkar has received a huge blow ahead of the IPL 2021 auction, for which he has registered his name at the base price of INR 20 Lakhs. The 21-year old left-arm pacer has not been named in  Mumbai's senior team for the Vijay Hazare Trophy, the domestic 50-over tournament, starting next week.

Arjun not named in Mumbai squad

The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) announced Wednesday their 22-men squad for the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy starting on February 20. While the Indian middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer will be leading the charge, Prithvi Shaw has been named his deputy. Arjun, after being part of the squad for the T20 competition, Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, was dropped from the squad.

Below-average performance of Arjun

Arjun was for the first time named in Mumbai's senior team when the BCCI had extended the player limit to 22 from 20. Arjun played just one game for his side in their Group E game in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and he took one wicket in the two overs he bowled and gave away 21 runs.

But before the tournament, he also got an opportunity to show his talent in the practice games. However, his performance in the practice games wasn't anything to boast about as well as in the four matches he played for Team D, he took just four wickets and with the bat, he scored just 7 runs in the 3 matches he got the opportunity.

Mumbai Players, who have got the chance

Mumbai has included the likes of all-rounder Shivam Dube, the limited-overs specialist Suryakumar Yadav, youngsters Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sarfraz Khan along with experienced hands like Aditya Tare and the bowling attack will be led by the senior statesman Dhawal Kulkarni.
