Chennai Super Kings will once again be led by MS Dhoni, after Ravindra Jadeja handed over the captaincy back to Dhoni, announced CSK on Saturday. The franchise took to their official Twitter handle to inform the fans of the update.
The four-time IPL champs have endured a torrid season so far, picking up just two wins from eight games, after Dhoni relinquished the captaincy, just two days ahead of CSK's first match of the IPL 2022 season.
Jadeja has struggled immensely with both the bat and the ball, and the pressure of captaincy seems to have taken a toll on the all-rounder's game.
Thus, CSK seem to have taken a logical decision, as they announced that Dhoni will continue his legacy as the CSK skipper again.
"Jadeja to handover CSK captaincy back to MS Dhoni: Ravindra Jadeja has decided to relinquish captaincy to focus and concentrate more on his game & has requested MS Dhoni to lead CSK. MS Dhoni has accepted to lead CSK in the larger interest & to allow Jadeja to focus on his game," read the statement from CSK.
