Following the retirements of senior batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma from T20Is, the selectors appointed Suryakumar Yadav as the captain for the three-match series. In a thrilling conclusion on Tuesday, India emerged victorious in the third and final T20I via a Super Over, presenting Gambhir with a memorable debut in his first bilateral series.

The spotlight has now shifted towards a three-game ODI series that commenced on August 2. Earlier reports indicated that both Kohli and Rohit would be absent from the ODI series, having requested a break following their contributions to India's T20 World Cup triumph.

During a training session, Kohli expressed visible displeasure when a fan mistakenly referred to him as "Chokli." The former India captain was observed engaging in shadow practice in the presence of his teammates.

Kohli sternly addressed the fan, stating, "Not here," while giving a disapproving look. Although the video of the incident has since gone viral on social media, some users have questioned its authenticity.

The 3 match ODI series is currently levelled at 0-0 with 1st ODI match ending in a tie.
