Team India cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal celebrates his 30th birthday on Thursday (July 23) as wishes poured in from all over the place.
Chahal, who made his debut back in 2016 for India after his breakthrough season in the IPL as the leading wicket-taker for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the same year, is easily one of the spinners on whom the Men In Blue rely for the breakthrough against the run of play.
However, one of the Yuzvendra's best performances with the ball came during India's tour of England during 2016-17. In the 3rd T20 match between the two sides, which was also the series decider as England had beaten India in the first match by seven wickets.
The Virat Kohli-led Men In Blue made a remarkable comeback in the 2nd matching and defeated England by five runs.
In the 3rd and the series decider T20 international, India got off to a terrible start as they lost Virat Kohli in the second over of the match.
However, veteran batsman Suresh Raina stood tall and smashed a 45-ball 63 that set the tone for a gigantic total.
In the death overs, the late onslaught by former Indian skipper MS Dhoni (56) guided Team India post a mammoth total of 202 for the loss of six wickets.
On the chase, the home side started off well scoring 55 runs in their opening six overs and were strong on the charge till the 13th over with 119 runs on the board and eight wickets in hands.
However, Chahal had another idea and completely changed the mood on that day when he got the ball. The spinner had bagged the valuable wicket of Sam Billings in the second over of the game and then went on to dismiss the English skipper Eoin Morgan and Joe Root on back-to-back deliveries, reducing England to 119-4.
A class-oozing Chahal, in the 16th over of the match, then went on to pick up Moeen Ali's wicket on the first ball of the over and sent star allrounder Ben Stokes and Chris Jordan back to the dressing room in the same over scalping his career-best of 6-25 as England was found tottering at 127 for 9.
His heroics worked wonders as India defeated England by 75 runs and the birthday boy also bagged the Man of the match at the end of the game.
