Team India cricketer Rohit Sharma has revealed that he loves playing against Australia in their home conditions and wants to play later this year.

India is scheduled to take on Australia in four Tests, three ODIs and three T20Is from October. However, the hosts are likely to ask BCCI for a five-match Test series.

Cricket Australia (CA) is set to lose 300 million Australian dollars if their series against India does not go ahead.

"I love playing against Australia, when we won the series in Australia the last time we toured there, it was a very big achievement. Obviously you were not there, we are looking for the series against Australia this year," Rohit Instagram live session with Warner.

"I wish both BCCI and CA manage something to get the series underway. It would be a great series for people to watch, it would be a good way to kick off cricket in the world," he added.

The coronavirus outbreak has brought all sports activities to a halt, players are practising social distancing and self-isolation during the pandemic.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) and the governments all around are urging people to stay at home.

"IPL may also happen, but I do not know the exact month and date. I am really looking forward to the Australian tour, we love coming to Australia and playing against you guys. Once we land in Australia, nothing comes easy, it is one of my favourite places in the world," Rohit further added.

Rohit Sharma is a key part of Mumbai Indians (MI) side for the 13th season of IPL, which BCCI decided to suspend until further notice, as a precautionary measure against the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation in India.

The opening match of this year's IPL was supposed to be played between the most successful teams of IPL - defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) - at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on March 29.
