Rohit's performance in India's chase of 353 against the Aussies was nothing short of spectacular.

India's captain, Rohit Sharma, made history on Wednesday during the third and final ODI against Australia in Rajkot. Rohit shattered a world record in international cricket by hitting the most sixes in a single country, with an impressive total of 257 maximums in India.

Not only did Rohit break this record, but he also achieved another remarkable feat. He became the fastest batter to reach 550 international sixes, surpassing the previous record set by West Indies' big-hitter, Chris Gayle.

Rohit's performance in India's chase of 353 against the Aussies was nothing short of spectacular. He came out with guns blazing, taking on the opposition's bowling attack in the first powerplay. In a whirlwind knock of 81 off just 57 balls, Rohit smashed six sixes and five fours before being dismissed by Glenn Maxwell in the 21st over.

Gayle and Rohit have become the sole batters to have smashed 550 sixes in international cricket, with Rohit accomplishing this milestone in his 471st innings. Hailing from Mumbai and aged 36, Rohit is just three sixes away from surpassing Chris Gayle and establishing a new record for the most sixes across all three formats.

At present, Gayle reigns supreme with 553 sixes, while Rohit closely trails behind with 551. Following them on the list are Shahid Afridi with 476, Brendon McCullum with 398, Martin Guptill with 383, and MS Dhoni with 359 sixes.
