The left-handed pocket dynamite Ishan Kishan created a storm with his 28-ball half-century playing for the first time in the national colours as he helped India take the game away from England in the first six overs of the second innings on the second T20I. Kishan, who along with Suryakumar Yadav made his debut in T20I cricket became only the second Indian batsman to score a half-century on debut in T20Is after Ajinkya Rahane.
Kishan, who came into the side as an opener, just blazed away as he ripped apart the England bowlers. No matter who came on to bowl, he just latched on to them and kept taking risks and scoring boundaries. In just 28 balls, he brought up his fifty with the help of five fours and four sixes.
Kishan, who is coming from a fantastic season with Jharkhand in domestic cricket and with the Mumbai Indians in the IPL, scoring 516 runs and smashing the maximum number of sixes, 30, didn't look like in any discomfort. You know you're doing well when skipper Virat Kohli is playing the second fiddle.
Ishan's innings wasn't going to be unnoticed by the cricketers and fans as the cricketing fraternity heaped praise on the 22-year old for playing a fabulous knock on his debut. From Virender Sehwag to Irfan Pathan and Yuvraj Singh, many former cricketers had their say in on Kishan's innings.
