While most of the England Test side are playing a hard-fought second Test at Galle against Sri Lanka, a few of the players, who were rested for the tour are on their way to India for the full series against the hosts across all three formats.
Star all-rounder Ben Stokes and fast bowler Jofra Archer were rested for the Sri Lanka series, as part of their workload management during COVID times and keeping in mind the bubble fatigue, while left-handed opener Rory Burns, too will fly to India after staying at home for the birth of his child. Batsman Ollie Pope, who has been recovering from his shoulder injury, too will travel to India for the Test series.
Ben Stokes before flying, took to social media and informed everyone about him travelling. "See you soo India," he wrote, while dressed in England's travelling uniform.
Rory Burns, too took to his Instagram to put a video of his packing. While, his clothes, diaries and a few more things were seen, his baby in a pram was included in his essentials as he wrote, "Packing the essentials."
England will play four Tests against India starting February 5, with first two matches to be played in Chennai and the remaining two will be played at the newly renovated Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad, with the third one being the day-night one.
