Furthermore, if both sides make it to the final, the arch rivals will meet once more on September 17.

India has participated in 15editions of the Asia Cup. The Indian team has emerged victorious in the Asia Cup on seven occasions. In the realm of One Day Internationals (ODIs), Team India has competed in a total of 49 matches, triumphing in 31 of them. It is worth noting that Sri Lanka holds the record for the highest number of wins, with 34 victories, according to Wisdom.

Pakistan’s record at Asia Cup

Pakistan has emerged victorious in the tournament on two occasions, in 2000 and 2012. Additionally, they secured the position of runners-up in 1986, 2014 and 2022. However, they were unable to participate in the tournament during the 1990-91 season. Impressively, Pakistan has triumphed in 26 out of the 45 matches it has played thus far.

Head to Head record between India and Pakistan

The two teams have clashed on 13 occasions in the Asia Cup. India emerged victorious in seven encounters, while Pakistan secured triumph in five. In the 2018 edition of the tournament, these fierce rivals met twice, with India emerging triumphant on both occasions. Captain Rohit Sharma showcased his brilliance by scoring a half-century in one match and a century in the other.

It is worth noting that India has emerged victorious in four out of the last five matches against Pakistan in the Asia Cup. However, in 2022, Pakistan managed to secure a thrilling 5-wicket victory over India.

The two teams competed against each other three times in the island country, resulting in one win for each team in two matches, while the third match ended with no conclusive outcome.
