India will have their work cut out to chase down this mammoth total and try to wrap up the series.
Having won the toss earlier in the day, Rohit asked Sri Lanka to bat first and the visitors got off to a flying start. Pathum Nissanka and Danushka Gunathilaka couldn't leave a lasting impression last time but they showed their true class on Saturday.
The pair of them had forged a 67-run opening partnership when India got their first moments to cherish thanks to Ravindra Jadeja. Trying to hit a big shot, Gunathilaka could only find Venkatesh Iyer who lunged forward to take a brilliant diving catch.

Dinesh Chadimal was the next man to come out for the visitors and he complement Nissanka well who top-scored for side on the evening.
Chandimal's stay at the crease wasn't too fruitful as he could only score 9 runs before giving a simple catch to Rohit, but his successor Shanaka proved to be the dangerman for India.
