Opener Shikhar Dhawan has been deemed fit and will be available for the impending contest that is slated to begin from August 3 in Florida.

Team India have announced their squad for the upcoming West Indies series. Opener Shikhar Dhawan has been deemed fit and will be available for the impending contest that is slated to begin from August 3 in Florida.

MS Dhoni who had expressed his unavailability for the tour has been rested. "He (MS Dhoni) has expressed his unavailability for the West Indies tour but we have a road map for coming days and future of India cricket," says MSK Prasad.

With the inclusion of youngsters like Navdeep Saini, Rahul and Deepak Chahar, MSK Prasad said, "We need to give opportunities to youngsters who will play for long".

Asked about wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant playing in all formats, MSK Prasad said, "Rishabh Pant has not done anything wrong for his non-inclusion. We know he's the only wicketkeeper to get a 100 in England and then in Australia. Pant will play in all formats, we have to manage his workload".

Prithvi Shaw and Hardik Pandya are not available, so is Bumrah for limited-overs cricket. As for Shubman Gill, he is in the waiting list now since KL Rahul is back, he'll be considered in future says, MSK Prasad.

MSK Prasad also spoke about Ambati Rayudu's 3d glasses tweet, he said, "Lovely tweet; I really enjoyed it. It was timely. Fantastic". Talking about his retirement he added, "There were certain programmes to see Ambati Rayudu comes into the setup. We (selection committee) don't have anything against a particular player".

"When Rayadu was picked for ODIs on the basis of his T20 performance, there was criticism, but we had some thoughts about him. When he failed the fitness test, we put him for a fitness program. Due to certain combinations, he wasn't picked, it doesn't make Selection Committee biased" MSK Prasad added.
