Virat Kohli decided not to enforce the follow-on as India took a massive lead of 292 runs on day three of the third test in Melbourne. Jasprit Bumrah led the Indian bowling charge with career-best haul of 6-33 as Australia were all out for 151 in their first innings. India had declared their first innings at 443/7 on Thursday.
However, Virat Kohli's decision seemed to backfire as Pat Cummins ran through India's top order in a fiery spell. After Hanuma Vihari fell for 13 to Cummins, Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli were out without scoring. India fell into further trouble when Cummins also got rid of Ajinkya Rahane (1) leaving India at 32/4.
This is the second time in the year both Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara have got out without scoring in 2018. The last time it happened was in the Oval Test match. Pujara also joined Sunil Gavaskar and Vinoo Mankad to become only the third Indian to score a century and a duck in a Test for India.
