Virat Kohli was left agitated when the square-leg umpire denied the Indians a run-out on Day three of their ongoing four-day warm-up match against Cricket Australia XI (CA XI) on Friday at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).

Virat Kohli was left agitated when the square-leg umpire denied the Indians a run-out on Day three of their ongoing four-day warm-up match against Cricket Australia XI (CA XI) on Friday at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).

India, batting first, were bowled out for 358 runs in 92 overs. In response to that, CA XI got off to a decent start, courtesy of their openers D'Arcy Short and Max Bryant.

Just when the visitors got a chance of a wicket, they were left fuming after their loud appeal for a run out was turned down by the on-field umpire. The situation turned bad when the Indian skipper asked for the third umpire's reference and that was not possible because there were no cameras in the ground.

In the 10th over of the CA XI innings on Friday, opener Bryant flicked the ball off Umesh Yadav through the mid-wicket region and sprinted for three after comfortably completing two runs.

However, the fielder quickly picked up the ball, threw it back to Umesh who in turn got a direct hit at the striker's end. The fielding side made a huge appeal fora runout but it was turned down.

The replays showed that it could have been a close call.

Meanwhile, Bryant and Short added 114 runs for the first wicket before India made a breakthrough finally in the 19th over when R Ashwin dismissed Bryant for 62. His 65-ball knock included with 9 fours and 1 six.
Short scored 74 off 91 balls on Day three, which was overall tough for India. CA XI went to stumps at 356 for 6 and they trailed by just two runs.

India will locks horns against the hosts Aussies in the first Test at the Adelaide Oval from December 6. The other three Tests of the Border Gavaskar Trophy will be played at the WACA, Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) and SCG.
