Ishan Kishan hit a 28-ball century in his first game playing for India in the second T20I against England at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The 22-year wicket-keeper batsman from Jharkhand was handed his cap by the skipper Virat Kohli ahead of the game as along with him Suryakumar Yadav also made his debut.
Chasing 165, India didn't have a great start as they KL Rahul in the first over but Kishan looked like he brought his form from the IPL and domestic cricket as he took on the England bowlers from the outset.
What pacers, what spinners, Kishan was the Hulk, following Captain America's orders, "Smash!" He found an able ally in captain Virat Kohli as he kept milking boundaries and took a full toll of the fielding restrictions.
Hitting five boundaries and four sixes, Kishan brought up his maiden half-century in just his first game as he became the second Indian batsman after Ajinkya Rahane to score a fifty on his T20I debut. Kishan helped India score 94 runs in just 10 overs and break down the chase.
