India v/s New Zealand 2017: Hosts announce ODI squad, several big names axed

Some big calls from the senior selection committee!

The All-India Senior Selection Committee named the Indian Cricket Team for the three-match One-Day International series against New Zealand.

There were quite a few changes made in the Indian ranks. Ravichandran Ashwin still hasn't found place in the squad, with Ravindra Jadeja facing the axe too. Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav were withdrawn as well, with Dinesh Karthik and Shardul Thakur making comebacks.\

Also, batsman KL Rahul, who was part of the five-match ODI series against Australia, has been dropped from the 15-member squad.

The team is as follows

Virat Kohli (Captain), Rohit Sharma (vice-captain), Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Manish Pandey, Kedar Jadhav, Dinesh Karthik, MS Dhoni (wk), Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Shardul Thakur.
