Indian head coach Ravi Shastri receives first dose of COVID-19 vaccine

Ravi Shastri said he is impressed with the professionalism shown by the hospital in dealing with the COVID-19 vaccination.

Indian head coach Ravi Shastri, who is with the Men in Blue in Ahmedabad for the Test series between India and England, took to Twitter to say that he has received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Shastri wrote, "Got the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Thank you to the amazing medical professionals & scientists for empowering India against the pandemic. Extremely impressed with the professionalism shown by Kantaben & her team at Apollo, Ahmedabad in dealing with COVID-19 vaccination".

As for the Indian team, they are going to play the final Test match of the ongoing series beginning on March 4, before moving on to the white-ball leg.

India and England are locked at 2-1 and the hosts are on the cusp of making it to the first World Test Championship final against New Zealand. India only need to avoid a loss and even a draw in the fourth Test against England. Earlier, India lost the first Test in Chennai before bouncing back in the second.

After the Test series, India and England will play 5 T20Is at the Narendra Modi Stadium before moving to Pune for 3 ODIs, which will be played behind closed doors, due to the rise of COVID-19 cases in Maharashtra.
