Indian women to play Test cricket after 7 years, confirms BCCI secretary Jay Shah

Indian women cricket team last played a Test match in 2014 against England and will be featuring in whites once again after ages

The BCCI announced on the occasion of the International Women's Day on Monday that the Indian women's cricket team will make a come back to Test cricket later this year, after a gap of seven years. The Indian team last featured in whites was long back in 2014, when they toured England. 

India won the game by 6 wickets as they chased down the 181-run target after losing just four wickets. The game took place in Wormsley.

The team will be again facing the England team in the one-off Test in the summers. 

Informing the same, the BCCI secretary, Jay Shah, took to Twitter and wrote, "On the occasion of #InternationalWomensDay, I’m pleased to announce that #TeamIndia @BCCIWomen will play a one-off Test match against @ECB_cricket later this year. The women in blue will be donning the whites again."
