'It is final before the final': Inzamam-ul-Haq on 'hype' for IND and PAK clash

The 51-year-old also spoke about how one cannot say with certainty that a particular side will win the tournament.

As the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2021 is in progress, fans are eagerly awaiting the clash of arch-rivals India and Pakistan. The two sides are scheduled to face each other on October 24 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

With so much hype around the much-awaited clash, former Pakistan skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq spoke about how the clash between India and Pakistan is like the final before the final.

"The match between India and Pakistan in the Super 12s is the final before the final. No match will be hyped as much as this one. Even in the 2017 Champions Trophy, India and Pakistan started and finished the tournament by facing each other, and both the matches felt like finals. The team winning that match will have their morale boosted and will also have 50 per cent of pressure released from them," Inzamam-ul-Haq said on his YouTube channel.

The 51-year-old also spoke about how one cannot say with certainty that a particular side will win the tournament. However, he added that the Virat Kohli-led side had a greater chance of winning the tournament, especially in UAE conditions.

"In any tournament, it cannot be said for certain that a particular team will win. It's all about how much chance do they have of winning it. In my opinion, India has a greater chance than any other team of winning this tournament, especially in conditions like these. They have experienced T20 players as well," concluded Inzamam-ul-Haq.
