Kusal Perera wants to play in domestic cricket to regain his place in the national test side.

Sri Lanka's Kusal Perera has declined joining Sunrisers Hyderabad as David Warner's replacement, if reports are to be believed. It is being said that Perera wants to play in domestic cricket to regain his place in the national test side instead of playing the Indian Premier League.

Earlier, reports had emerged that Sunrisers Hyderabad wanted the left-handed wicketkeeper-batsman to join the side for IPL 2018 in place of David Warner, who has been banned for one-year by Cricket Australia for his involvment in the ball-tampering scandal.

Sri Lankan journalist Daniel Alexander recently tweeted that "Kusal Perera has reportedly rejected an IPL offer to play domestic first-class tournament to work on Test recall."

Kusal Perera last played in a Test match for his home side back in 2016.

David Warner had resigned as Sunrisers Hyderabad captain after the ball-tampering scandal surfaced. Steve Smith and Warner were later banned for one-year by Cricket Australia for their involvement in the scandal and barred from playing IPL 2018.

Meanwhile, it seems Rajasthan Royals have zeroed in on the replacement for Steve Smith. According to TOI,  Rajasthan Royals have sent a request for the South Africa's Heinrich Klassen to the BCCI.
