RCB may not be having the best of IPL 2018, but their main bowler Umesh Yadav is growing in strength every match. Yadav currently leads the list of most wickets in IPL 2018 and holds the coveted Purple Cap.
The Purple Cap continued to change hands on Matchday 31 of IPL 2018 on Monday after Royal Challengers Bangalore's Umesh Yadav overtook Mumbai Indians' Hardik Pandya in the bowlers' list.
Umesh stood at the top of the IPL 2018 Purple Cap list with 14 wickets, the same as Hardik, but a better economy rate put him ahead of the Mumbai player in the bowlers' list.
Umesh returned figures of 1/36 against Sunrisers Hyderabad to join Hardik on 14 wickets after match 39 of IPL 2018.
Umesh has an economy rate of 8.15 while Pandya has given 8.49 per over.
Sunrisers Hyderabad's Siddharth Kaul and Rashid Khan occupy the next two spots followed by Mumbai's Mayank Markande. Delhi Daredevils' Trent Boult is at sixth. All these bowlers have taken 13 wickets so far.
Mujeeb Ur Rahman of Kings XI Punjab and Sunil Narine of Kolkata Knight Riders have 12 wickets each while Jasprit Bumrah is at number 10 with 11 wickets.
