IPL 2020: Royal Challengers Bangalore announce full list of retained and released players

Going into the season, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has made a lot of changes from their 2019 squad in hopes change in fortunes in the tournament.

With the official auction just days away, the hype for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 is well and truly underway with all the eight teams officially announcing their retained and released players ahead of the upcoming season.

Going into the season, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has made a lot of changes from their 2019 squad in hopes change in fortunes in the tournament. 

RCB announced the appointment of former New Zealand coach Mike Hesson as the Director of Cricket Operations and also the appointment of former Aussie batsman Simon Katich as the Head Coach.

The Bangalore-based franchise on Friday also revealed the list of retained and released players.

RCB decided to retain 13 players and released as many as 12 players from their squad. Skipper Virat Kohli and South Africa’s star batsman AB de Villiers are some of the few expected names who have been retained.

RCB's list of players who have been retained also included: Moeen Ali, Yuzvendra Chahal, Parthiv Patel, Mohammed Siraj, Umesh Yadav, Pawan Negi, Devdutt Paddikal, Gurkeerat Mann Singh, Washington Sundar, Shivam Dube and Navdeep Saini.

However, the challengers decided to release Marcus Stoinis, Shimron Hetymer, Akshdeep Nath, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Colin de Grandhomme, Prayas Ray Barman, Tim Southee, Kulwant Khejroliya, Himmat Singh, Heinrich Klaasen, Milind Kumar and Dale Steyn.
