Left-arm pacer and Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar's son Arjun has been shortlisted in the final list of 292 players, who are set to go under the hammer in the upcoming auction for the 2021 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The uncapped 21-year old Mumbai-born player had registered himself at the base price of INR 20 Lakhs.
Arjun, who was picked in Mumbai's senior squad in the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy made his debut against Haryana in his side's Group E game, which made him eligible to register for the auction (by playing at least one first-class match).
The BCCI on Thursday announced the list of 292 players shortlisted to go under the hammer for the upcoming season of the IPL, in the auction scheduled to take place on February 18 in Chennai.
Arjun who has played for Mumbai in various age group competitions also took part in the Mumbai T20 League in 2019 and has travelled with the Indian team for England tour in the past, as a net bowler.
Pujara listed at 50 Lakhs
India's Test No 3 Cheteshwar Pujara has also made the cut despite his image of being a Test match player. Pujara in the past has played for Kings XI Punjab and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL. However, the 38-year old experienced Kerala and former Indian pacer S Sreesanth has missed out on the place to get picked in the auction and feature in the lucrative league again.
