It seems like COVID-19 cases in Indian cricket are not going to stop anytime soon as the former all-rounder Irfan Pathan tested positive for coronavirus on Monday evening. This is the fourth case of an Indian cricketer, who took part in the Road Safety World Series that has tested positive.
Irfan was part of the India Legends along with skipper Sachin Tendulkar, his elder brother Yusuf Pathan and middle-order batsman S Badrinath, who all returned with positive results in the last three days.
While informing the same, Irfan mentioned that he didn't have any symptoms and has quarantined himself at home. "I have tested positive for COVID-19 with no symptoms and have isolated myself and quarantined at home," Irfan said in a statement he issued on the micro-blogging site Twitter.
"I would request those who came in contact with me in the recent past to please get themselves tested. Urging all to wear masks and maintain social distancing," the statement added.
The entire Road Safety World Series took place in Raipur with crowds allowed in the stadium, which India eventually won by beating Sri Lanka Legends in the final.
