Team India allrounder Irfan Pathan announced his retirement from all three formats of the game on Saturday (December 4).
No one can forget about his hat-trick in the first over of the Karachi Test of 2006 for Team India and is the only cricketer to achieve this feat till now. He was also a key part of the 'Men In Blue' squad which lifted the inaugural Twenty20 World Cup in 2007.
It was under Sourav Ganguly's captaincy Irfan made his debut for India but became a key part of both Rahul Dravid and MS Dhoni's teams for some time.
The 35-year-old received a heartwarming message from his son- Imran -on social media, as numerous wishes poured in to bid Irfan a happy life after retirement.
Imran took to Instagram, which is managed by Safa Mirza, and posted an adorable photo dedicated to his father with a heartfelt caption.
“You are a STAR! You’ve been a source of inspiration to millions and continue to spread your ray of sunshine everywhere you go! Your triumph is etched in our hearts! ????????To new beginnings, many more chapters & feathers to add in your cap! Thank You daddy, for being YOU #2020 #irfanpathan,” his IG post read.
To this post, Irfan responded with an adorable reply which read: “Thank you for being in my life”.
In reply, Imran said: "Meant to be.... you're welcome"
