Mother’s Day 2018: From Sachin Tendulkar to PV Sindhu, sportspersons wish their mothers

Several sportstars wished their mothers on Mother’s Day 2018.

Mother's Day is a celebration honoring the mother and her influence in society.

The modern Mother's Day was first celebrated in 1908, when Anna Jarvis held a memorial for her mother at St Andrew's Methodist Church in Grafton, West Virginia. St Andrew's Methodist Church now holds the International Mother's Day Shrine. Her campaign to make Mother's Day a recognized holiday in the United States began in 1905, the year her mother, Ann Reeves Jarvis, died. 

It is the day of the year to appreciate, remember and thank mother's for their role in our life. Mothers play a very important role any the life of sports people- sometimes as a teacher or a supporter or a fan or a critic.  

Several sportspersons wished their mothers on Mother’s Day 2018. 

Sachin Tendulkar shared a beautiful picture of her mother on Mother's Day. He wrote, "She is the one who can take place of all others but her place cannot be taken by any other!"

Mumbai Indians fan club shared pictures of current captain Rohit Sharma and team icon Sachin with their mothers. 

Saina Nehwal took to Twitter to wish Happy Mother's day.

PV Sindhu too dedicated the day to her mom.

Indian football team shared a beautiful picture of Dheeraj Singh with his mother.

Indian hockey captain PR Sreejesh wished his mother.

Sakshi Malik wrote, "God could not be everywhere and therefore he made mothers."

Harbhajan Singh shared the picture of his mother and wife Geeta Basra.

Chris Gayle too remembered is mother.

Shane Warne too took to Twitter to wish everyone a Happy Mother's Day.

Suresh Raina, who is busy with Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2018, did not forget to wish his mother.
