MS Dhoni reveals the reason why he never answers phone calls

Former Indian cricket captain MS Dhoni is known as a very private person. Dhoni, who is known to stay away from the limelight both on and off the field, also quite 'famous' for not picking up phone calls, even from his team mates.    

Now, Dhoni has himself cleared the air and disclosed why he rarely answers phone calls. 

Dhoni said he doesn’t use phones too much and believes that it is something that has to be used in the right manner. He also said that there is a big divide between him and technology. 

“Me and technology, there is a big divide. I don’t use phones so much and there are a lot of stories I don’t pick up phones. But I do use technology as well. When I am shown some videos, you wonder if I am playing it right. Technology has to be used in right way,” Dhoni was quoted as saying by India Today.

When VVS Laxman retired in 2012, he had said that he couldn't inform the then captain Dhoni because he didn't pick up phone calls. This has led to speculation that the two cricketers didn't enjoy a great rapport. 

However, Dhoni has now revealed how the Hyderabad batsman tried contacting him on phone but couldn't get a hold of him. 

"You think it's a controversy but people who know me always complained that I'm someone who is quite difficult to get hold of. That was one of the reasons why Laxmanbhai could not get hold of me," Dhoni said. 

Even Dhoni's wife Sakshi had to take an unusual route to let him know about the birth of their daughter. Just a week before ICC World Cup 2015 began, Dhoni became the father of baby Ziva. However, Dhoni did not have a phone with him as he was preparing for the 2015 ICC World Cup in Australia. 

Sakshi had to contact team mate Suresh Raina to share the news with Dhoni.
