Shah Rukh Khan has been seen cheering on for his IPL team KKR in almost every match, but not many people know that SRK doesn’t own just one but four cricket teams, one of which is an all-women’s cricket team.
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan owns four total cricket teams – Kolkata Knight Riders, Abu Dhabi Knight Riders, Los Angeles Knight Riders, and Trinbago Knight Riders. The last of the three is an all-women’s cricket team – the first women’s team owned by SRK.
All of these four teams are part of the Kolkata Knight Riders cricket franchise, which is one of the most profitable IPL teams in the country, only behind Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings.
Shah Rukh Khan’s three international cricket teams don’t play in the IPL but in overseas cricket leagues. The Los Angeles Knight Riders play in Major League Cricket, Abu Dhabi Knight Riders play in International League T20 (ILT20), and Trinbago Knight Riders play in the Women’s Caribbean Premier League.
Shah Rukh Khan co-owns KKR with his friend and actress Juhi Chawla and her husband Jay Mehta. However, SRK has the majority stake in the cricket franchise at 55 percent. It is estimated that their four cricket teams have cost King Khan millions of dollars.
The total valuation of the Kolkata Knight Riders franchise is upwards of USD 1.1 billion, according to Forbes, which comes out to over Rs 9147 crore. However, these cricket teams have helped SRK grow his net worth over the last decade.
Shah Rukh Khan has an overall net worth of over Rs 6300 crore, making him one of the richest actors and cricket team owners in the country.
