A Delhi Court has granted divorce to cricketer Shikhar Dhawan from his estranged wife Aesha Mukerji, on grounds of cruelty by the latter, Bar and Bench reported. Dhawan and Aesha tied the knot in October 2012. Aesha is a Melbourne-based kickboxer, who married the cricketer in 2012 after falling in love.
Judge Harish Kumar accepted all the allegations made by Dhawan in his divorce petition against his wife on the ground that the wife either did not contest the said allegations or failed to defend herself. Ayesha is 12 years older than Dhawan. She already had two daughters from her first marriage with an Australian businessman. Dhawan and Aesha have a son, Zorawar. She presently lives with her two daughters and son in Australia.
Mukerji confirmed her divorce from Dhawan through a heartfelt Instagram post in 2021. She completed her schooling in India and later pursued her education in Australia. She is an avid sports and fitness enthusiast. She is also fond of tattoos, with prominent ones adorning her biceps, including her daughter’s name.
