BCCI President and former Indian captain, Sourav Ganguly underwent an angioplasty after he felt discomfort in chest on Wednesday

BCCI President and former Indian captain, Sourav Ganguly has successfully undergone angioplasty on Thursday. Ganguly, felt a little discomfort in his chest Wednesday and was admitted to the Apollo Hospital, Kolkata. After the initial check-up it was decided to perform angioplasty as he had to undergo stenting.

The hospital in a release said that Ganguly's angioplasty was successful and two stents were placed. "Dr Aftab Khan and the team comprising Dr Ashwin Mehta, Dr Devi Shetty, Dr Ajit Desai, Dr Saroj Mondal and Dr Saptarshi Basu successfully performed angioplasty on Mr Sourav Ganguly at Apollo Gleneagles Hospitals, Kolkata on January 28, 2021 and two stents were placed," said the release.

This is not the first time that this happened as Ganguly went through a similar pain earlier this month, after which he was under observation for a few days.

The hospital confirmed that the procedure went well and Ganguly was stable. "The procedure was uneventful. Mr Ganguly is stable and under close observation," added the release.
