Dhoni has not featured for the national side since India's semi-final exit from the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 against New Zealand.

Former Team India skipper and the new Board of Control for Cricket in India President Sourav Ganguly expressed his thoughts of discussing with the selection committee about MS Dhoni's future.

Dhoni has not featured for the national side since India's semi-final exit from the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 against New Zealand.

India is set to take on Bangladesh in November in three T20I matches before two Test matches to finish the series off. The team for the T20I will be officially announced on October 24 in Mumbai and Sourav Ganguly wants to have a serious conversation with the BCCI selector about MSD.

"I will find out from the selectors when I meet them on 24th. I will find out what the selectors are thinking. Then I will put my opinion," Ganguly said on Wednesday.

He also added how he also wants to know about Dhoni's opinion before they announce anything. "Let's see what Dhoni wants," he said.

Sourav emerged as a unanimous candidate for the post of Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) new President on Monday.

The 47-year-old former cricketer and commentator - who is currently heading the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) - will resign from his post next year in September 2020 to undergo a necessary cooling off period.

Under Ganguly, India were able to break the 16-Test winning streak of Australia at the Eden Gardens. The match is fondly remembered as one of the greatest witnessed in the sport.
