While India's T20I series against Sri Lanka did not go as planned, many players from the host country have made sure to impress in the chance they got. One such player was leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga.
The cricketer who is currently the world’s no. 2 bowler in the ICC T20I rankings, had picked up seven wickets and also scored 29 valuable runs at a strike rate of more than 130.
His exploits against India saw him grab the eyeballs of many including that of the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises. Not just that, the player has claimed that two teams from the IPL have already approached him.
In a recent interaction with Mumbai Indians' (MI) Lasith Malinga on his YouTube channel, Hasaranga admitted that he was approached by two IPL teams.
"Two IPL teams have approached me after the series against India. Getting a chance to play in the IPL is a big deal and it’s my dream to feature in the IPL one day,” Wanindu Hasaranga said.
While there has been no confirmation yet on which two IPL teams approached him, there were some reports of Virat Kohli's Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) having approached the bowler. Nothing has been confirmed as of yet.
As for Hasaranga, the spinner had created havoc on the Indian batters as he ended with figures of 4 for 9 in his four overs. He had helped restrict India to just 81 for 8 in the 20 overs.
