The capped fast-bowlers list started with T Natarajan on Day 1 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 meg auction in Bengaluru. Gujrat and Hyderabad started the bidding war for the pacer, who set his base price at 1 Cr, but his former franchise brought him for 4 Cr. The left-arm pacer hasn't played competitive cricket in a while due to injury issues.
Prasidh Krishna saw the fight begin between Lucknow and Rajasthan. He had set his base price at 1 Cr. Gujrat too started their bid in between for the pacer. However, he was taken by Rajasthan for 10 Cr.
Lockie Ferguson sparked a clash between Bangalore, Gujrat and Lucknow. His base price was 2 Cr and was sold to Gujrat for 10 Cr.
Chennai and Lucknow started bidding immediately for Josh Hazlewood. Mumbai and Bangalore joined later on and saw the pacer, who kept his base price at 2 Cr. was sold to RCB for 7.75 Cr.
Next on the list was England pacer Mark Wood. Setting his base price at 2 Cr. the bowler was in demand for Delhi and Lucknow with Mumbai joining in later. However, Lucknow bought Mark Wood for Rs 7.5 crore
As for Shardul Thakur, the bidding began between Gujrat and Punjab. The all-rounder had his base price at 2 Cr. He was purchased by Delhi, who joined later on for 10.75 Cr.
Mustafizur Rahman Mustafizur Rahman was taken by Delhi Capitals for Rs 2 crore. The team owners were happy with the purchase as there were no other bids for the left-arm pacer.
A total of 600 cricketers are set to go under the hammer during the two-day mega auction in Bengaluru on February 12 and 13. Of the total pool, 229 are capped players, 364 are uncapped players and seven belong to the Associate Nations.
