India's domination over the West Indies continued with a facile eight-wicket win on Sunday.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli and his deputy Rohit Sharma conjured up breathtaking centuries as hosts' ruthless domination over the West Indies continued in a eight-wicket win in the first One-day International on Sunday.

After their rout in the Test series, West Indies did a good job by putting on board a challenging 322 for eight, capitalising on the absence of India's front line pacers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah.

However, making mockery of what looked like a stiff 323-run target, the India cantered to the win with 7.5 overs to spare, taking a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.

While most people were quite happy about Team India's performance in the game, former Indian spinner Bishan Singh Bedi wasn’t much impressed by the match.

Bedi described the result in Guwahati a “total massacre of mediocrity” questioning the logic behind playing a home series against such a weak West Indies side before Australian tour.

He said that such games did not help India find any solution to their problems ahead of the tour Down Under.
