The all-important selection committee meeting to pick the Indian squads for the tour is set to take place on Monday and will be the first major meeting for the new selection committee led by Sunil Joshi.

The squads will be picked after assessing all the injury-related updates and amid all this, the news of Rishabh Pant missing the tour has come out.

It is said that due to the coronavirus lockdown, Pant's fitness has come into question as he is overweight for the tour. The final decison of the team, however, is yet to eb taken.

According to news agencies, Team India's fitness trainer has said that he met the Delhi Captials' (DC) batsman and found him overweight.

The report also quoted sources as saying that the fitness trainer had shared his views with the wicketkeeper-batsman and regardless of his performance on field during the IPL, BCCI will have to consider Pant's fitness report before selecting him. The selctors will have a talk with trainer Nick Webb about the same.

The reported also said that if Pant is part of the toir, he may not be included in the playing XI in the white ball cricket as KL Rahul will be given a chance as the first choice wicketkeeper. However, he may get a chance in Test in place of Wriddhiman Saha.

As for the series, players for the three formats - Tests, ODIs and T20Is - will travel together as that will help maintain the bubble. It will commence from November end to January.

This will be the Indian cricket team’s first major international tour ever since the New Zealand series in February and March.
