The decision to bat him at No 3 has backfired.

Gujarat Titans (GT) all-rounder Vijay Shankar has yet again become the talk of the town after failing to score big while batting at number 3 against Delhi Capitals (DC) in match 10 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022.

The all-rounder had become a trending topic on Twitter and fans on social media were shocked to see Shankar bat at number 3 for the new franchise. The decision somehow does not seem to fit properly as the batter was clean bowled by spinner Kuldeep Yadav after he scored 13 runs off 20 balls.

The cricket fans soon started a meme fest on Twitter after Shankar's flop show.

In their opening game against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, Shankar was dismissed on just 4 by Dushmantha Chameera in the chase of 159. The Sri Lankan pacer had set up Shankar quite well and then followed it with a toe-crushing yorker to which the batter had no answer and was bowled.
