Veteran Team India cricketer S Sreesanth has expressed his thoughts on how he wants to see former Indian skipper, MS Dhoni, to feature in Men In Blue squad for the 2020 T20 World Cup.
Since India's semi-final exit from the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 against New Zealand in August last year, MSD hasn't featured for the Men In Blue.
During his break from cricket, the 38-year-old also served for the Indian Army too.
A lot of speculations took place since then, with rumours suggesting that Dhoni wont be picked for the T20 World Cup, scheduled to take place in Australia later this year.
"He should definitely play the T20 World Cup. I genuinely hope IPL happens before the World Cup so that we get to see Dhoni bhai’s crazy innings because a lot of people have been talking and he has been silent. He knows what he does," Sreesanth was quoted as saying my numerous outlets on Friday.
"The biggest example for a human being is let the world say, whatever they say, he is serving our country. He is serving Army."
"He has made it clear I don’t want to join politics and all. He has said, I want to do service and don’t think I even deserve to comment on it," he added.
The 13th edition of the IPL was supposed to act as a stepping stone for Dhoni to showcase his worth and forge his way back into the Indian squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
Due to the coronavirus outbreak, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) decided to postpone the kick-off the IPL 2020 until further notice.
The opening match of this year's IPL was supposed to be played between the most successful teams of IPL - defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) and CSK - at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on March 29.
